Roulette Strategy

Okay, you might reasonably ask, how can you develop a Roulette strategy when it is a game of chance? That is an entirely reasonable point to ponder, but the fact of the matter is that there are actually several different techniques that can be used as a sort of Roulette strategy. These apply to the land based casino establishments just as much as they do to the online games.

The first thing to note is the type of wheel upon which the game is played. There are two types – the American and the European. It is the European wheel that has the single zero slot (as opposed to the American wheel with the single and the double zeroes). This means that you may want to stick with the European styles as a Roulette strategy that automatically gives you higher odds for winning. The Europeans wheels stand at 5.3% chance, while the Americans are at a 2.7% chance.

Another savvy strategy is to partner the European wheel with a game that offers the “surrender” option. This allows a player to retrieve half of their original bet (as long as they are “even money bets) should the wheel stop on the zeroes. The even money bets are those falling under the high-low, red-black, or odd-even categories. This would mean that you technically only lose half the bet should the ball land on the zero slot.

If you are strategic enough to work strictly with the European wheels, you will often find a second option for the times when the ball lands on a zero, and that is the “en prison” option. This allows the player to save their bet for the next spin should the ball sink into the single zero slot. This means it is similar to a “two for one” without any financial loss sustained by the player.
